The New Sandals Saint Vincent All Inclusive Resort Review

Note: Whenever possible I will be using my own images and videos for this review but didn’t have an actual overview or drone shot of the resort.

My husband Lou and I were blessed to visit the newest Sandals 2.0 resort. The Sandals Saint Vincent.

Sandals Saint Vincent has been opened for almost a full year now, but just a couple months after opening, it was damaged by Hurricane Helene, and needed some repairs done. So it’s still literally brand new!

The Positives 🏆

First Impressions:

You know that feeling when you arrive somewhere, and it just feels special?

That’s what hit us the moment we arrived at Sandals Saint Vincent. Nestled in a breathtaking oceanfront cove surrounded by lush green mountains, this resort gives a vibe of elegance-kind of like walking into a Caribbean version of the Four Seasons. In fact, the design and layout reminded us of the Four Seasons Resort in Maui-sophisticated, spacious, and stunning.

A Grand Welcome

From the moment you step out of your transfer, you’re greeted with a refreshing drink, a welcoming song, and an incredible view-an open-concept lobby with the main pool area and  ocean stretching beyond. Even if you’re battling a little motion sickness (like Lou was!), this first impression feels like a breath of fresh air.

Poolside Bliss: A Spot for Every Mood

Main Pool:

The heart of the resort is the sprawling main pool area that includes shaded cabanas, comfortable loungers, and plenty of room to unwind. Whether you’re sipping a frozen mojito or joining the lively afternoon pool party games, this spot will give you a little bit of everything. Lou & I spent a LOT of our days lounging here!

Plenty of Shaded Poolside Cabanas!

One of our favorite things to do on vacation is to find a comfortable Cabana that is shaded, and sip our cocktails, read a good book, or just nap. Usually all three will happen at the same time…LOL. Unlike other Sandals resorts, Sandals St. Vincent has plenty of poolside cabanas at the main pool area. The resort was almost at full capacity when we were there, and we never had an issue finding a poolside cabana.

The Heart-Shaped Pool Area:

Tucked away at the edge of the luxury cottages at Sandals St. Vincent, the Heart shaped pool area is designed for the couple who wants to just be in a more quiet and serene setting. You usually find most Sandals resorts have both a active and vibrant pool area, and a “quiet pool area” This is the quiet pool.

2 Beach Front Infinity Pools:

If you would rather have an ocean view, then these two infinity pool areas are for you! Overlooking the beach, these two gorgeous infinity pools are more for those who want a view of the ocean, food at your finger tips, and while the prime sunset-watching spots. Picture yourself standing at the edge of the water, drink in hand, watching the sky turn gold-it’s magic.

Lots of Space!

Sandals St. Vincent is a large property that has plenty of space to walk on well-defined paths built to take you wherever you want to go. And even though it is large, if you’re moderately healthy, you can quickly walk to any spot on the resort within 6-7 minutes.

Dining: From Cozy Cafes to Gourmet Feasts

If you’re wondering if restaurants at Sandals St. Vincent require reservations, there are a few that do (Gatsu Gatsu, Butch’s Chop House, and Buccan). How do you set up your dinner reservations at Sandals St Vincent? Go to The Cove which is in the plaza near the infinity pools.

Dinner at Butch’s Chop house. Two pro tips: the drinks at the bar here are the best on the resort AND you’ll want to get your reservation set up on day 1 of your trip. Visit the Cove to set up your dinner reservations.

Breakfast at Parisol Beach Club!

11 restaurants on-site, there’s plenty to choose from:

Gatsu Gatsu: Delicious sushi and Japanese cuisine.
Jerk Shack: Great for a casual lunch (but skip the dinner menu).
Parisol Beach Club: Offers laid-back breakfast and lunch with a bar vibe in the evening.

Buffet: While quick and convenient, options are somewhat limited-especially for non-pork eaters.
Scrimshaw: Exceptional seafood with a delicious roasted chicken option for non-seafood lovers.
Butch’s Chop House: If you crave a premium steak or lamb dinner, this is your spot. Lou got the Ribeye and I got the Delmonico, both were Excellent!
Sora: An inviting Italian eatery with excellent food, though you’ll want to remind the staff if you’re waiting at the bar for your table.

Buccan: A unique farm-to-table family-style experience that blew us away with creative flavors and pairings. (This was one of the most unique and tastey experiences we’ve ever had dining. I Highly recommend! ) – set up your dining reservation at the Cove.

For coffee and sweet treats, you’ll love:

Bloom: A cozy cafe near the lobby with pastries, ice cream, and coffee.
Crema: Lou’s favorite! Known for their affogatos (espresso with vanilla ice cream) and warm peanut butter cookies that melt in your mouth.

The Beach:

If you are a lover of a long stretch of powdery soft white sand beach, like you can find in Jamaica, Bahamas, or Turks & Caicos, Sandals Saint Vincent is not going to be the resort for you! Saint Vincent is a volcanic island, like St. Lucia and the sand is darker here. Any white sand you see is brought in to look the part, which helps.

I personally think the beach is fairly spacious, the water is something you can get into and still see what’s going on around you, and it is calm.

However, I over heard one couple that either booked their trip on their own, or used a travel professional who didn’t qualify them, complaining that if they would have known how small the actual beach was, they would have chosen a different Sandals resort.

On the plus side, if the beach isn’t a deal breaker, than you still have plenty of beautiful pool areas to sun bathe & lounge here at Sandals Saint Vincent.

Now The Negatives:

As a Sandals and Beaches Platinum agent, I want you to get maximum value for every dollar you spend on your vacation, destination wedding, anniversary… etc. Whatever the ocasion, you are investing a good chunk of change on your trip, and I know I don’t want any negative surprises to sour your experience.

  1. Very limited food choices at both the breakfast and lunch buffet

For example, Lou and I don’t eat pork, and we put that on our food preference form, but it was never mentioned, and during breakfast there were usually only pork sausage and pork bacon. There were very little alternatives to choose from.

  1. 2. Inconsistent service: Sometimes we were offered coffee and water right away, other times we literally had to hunt someone down to get a cup of coffee at our table.
A Few Things to Know Before You Go

1. Limited Flights: St. Vincent doesn’t have the air traffic of places like Cancun. Delays may mean arriving a day late, so get good travel insurance that reimburses for delays and call your travel agent if this happens and you have flexibility in your schedule to adjust your travel dates.
2. Long Twisty & Turn Transfer Time: The hour-long ride from the airport can be bumpy, so if you’re prone to motion sickness, pack some Dramamine.
3. Pool Cabanas Tip: Despite the “Reserved” signs, most unoccupied cabanas are up for grabs by 11 a.m. Don’t be afraid to claim one!
